Goody Green Bag Review & Giveaway!

The 3 Rs are no longer known as Reading, Writing, and Arithmetic. In today's day and age Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle are the new Rs on the block. My family has been taking steps over the last few years to reduce our carbon footprint and increase the amount of organic and recyclable products we bring into our home. So, needless to say, when I found out that Goody Green Bag was going to be sending me one of their ultra cool reusable bags to review I was ecstatic!

When I first opened the package the bag struck me more as a handbag than a grocery bag, and I felt a little twinge of sadness that it would be holding my milk instead of my wallet. The bags fold down into a little clutch shaped pouch and has a nice tight velcro closure keeping everything in it's place and holding the bag compact so that it is easier to store. When I opened the bag I was stunned by the size. It's very tall and, unlike most of it's competitors, has long handles that make it perfect for slinging over your shoulder. I commented to my husband that for a mother of 2 this is especially useful, because, when I go out with my boys, I don't have a spare hand to hold my bags! There is also a really nifty pouch on the front that is large enough for your wallet, but I used it for my receipts!

As if the aesthetically pleasing points of my Goody Green Bag aren't enough, it's tough to boot! Their website says it will easily hold 2 gallons of milk along with other groceries, and this was absolutely the case. The ultra lightweight feel of the fabric had me convinced there was no way that claim was possible, but this sturdy bag blew my doubts out of the water. It not only held my 2 gallons of water (side by side no less!) but also 4 cans of soup, and a bottle of mayonnaise, all without breaking a sweat. My shoulder gave out before the bag did.

One of the most amazing things about the Goody Green Bag isn't just it's appearance or strength, but the bag itself is recyclable. So, in the event that your bag becomes unusable you don't have to worry about throwing it in the trash. Just head over to the recycling bin, say your sad farewell, and even in your parting you are in keeping with the 3 Rs. Goody Green Bags are trendy, functional, durable, and eco-friendly. I have to say that these are definitely some of my new favorites and sure to be every mama's best friend!
