*ENDED* Newborn Giveaway #10 - Fresh Baby Baby Food Kit

Like so many things I relearned with my second boy, baby food became a new kind of priority for me. When you take a closer look at jarred baby food you find that you are actually paying more for water, starch, and sugar than you are for the nutritional foods. I started looking into making my own baby food and then, on a whim, I pureed some bananas sitting on my counter and the rest, as they say, is history.

I never looked back, never wished for the "easier" days of Gerber and Beechnut, and I never ever felt bad putting a single spoonful of homemade baby food into my son's mouth. With a few simple items and a little bit of know how I was able to spend 30 minutes and have a fridge and freezer full of nutritious, homemade food that never failed to please my chunky monkey.

Fresh Baby makes the So Easy Baby Food Kit. It contains the information you need to learn about preparing and storing your baby's food. It also tells you the nutritional needs of your child at each stage and what foods best fulfill those needs. The kit includes an instructional DVD, freezer trays with lids, cookbook, and nutritional tips card.

You can start with the DVD included in the kit that gives you a quick run down of the "how-to" of baby food making. Then hang your Nutrition Card on the fridge. I LOVE the Nutrition Card because it is so much more than what I would have pictured it being. The obvious is the information about the nutrients your baby needs, and what food pack the best punch. But the part that I love is that there is also a CPR section, and an illness section that gives you food "cures". And if you forget what you saw in their DVD there is also a short reminder section for that. And it's laminated, so no amount of slung peas will stain this baby!

Now that you've done your homework you can dive into the cookbook and start making your baby food! Store the batches of food in the freezer trays (after washing, of course), cover, and freeze. After the foods have frozen, you can transfer them to Ziploc baggies, or keep them in the trays. At mealtime all you have to do is grab your fruits and veggies 1oz at a time! No more wasting food, just grab what you need, heat, and serve!

It doesn't get any easier than this, and the money you save adds up quickly! If I didn't convince you then you can read more at Fresh Baby's website, but if you're sold enter to win your own Fresh Baby Baby Food Kit!
