My Table Has Become Artwork

Unfortunately for me, I didn't intend it to be like this. My oldest was coloring some pictures for me, having a grand ole time, and I was online. Surprised, right? Anyhow, I turn around to check on him and he has foregone the paper in favor of my kitchen table! He drew lovely criss-crossing train tracks down the entire length of my table. Now, as you can see from the pictures, it's not the best table anyway, but it's still our only table! I have tried scrubbing it out and it's not budging an inch. I think a tablecloth is the only thing that's going to save it.

Please, tell me I'm not alone. Tell me what your kiddos have turned into art lately!

Try a magic eraser...it might surprise you. Good luck.

Luckily, I haven't had that happen yet. But a friend of mine swears by the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. Worth a try! Good luck!

I got lucky - he only turned the placemat into artwork...not the table :)

LMAO!!! You are sooo not alone! I discovered a wonderful Picasso-look-a-like today on the livingroom wall next to the TV... and here's what my 2 1/2yo did while I ran to the bathroom for about 40seconds... yes, that is my diningroom chair, table, his hands, feet and later on, I found that he also colored his tummy and chest too!!! LOL!

Oh my. The little stinker. Mr. clean sometimes works for jobs like that.

Yikes! I agree about Magic Erasers or maybe some Clorox Clean Up, both seem to work wonders. I think water and baking soda paste is supposed to remove it too. Good luck!

If it makes you feel any better, my little one colored himself from the waist down in blue permanent marker when hubby was supposed to be watching him. Ugh.

Any luck getting it off today? If Magic Eraser doesn't work, then try Goo Gone. And if that doesn't work, find a really pretty table cloth. ;)

*~ UPDATE ~*

Still no luck getting it out, although, I am out of Magic Erasers. The table is cheap anyhow, and as you can see, pieces are coming off of the top. I think I see a tablecloth in our future!

Been there.. Been exactly there, lol!! We just moved from NC to Texas.. and in the last months before we moved.. my girls got to the table.. and um.. shall I say, gave it a makeover?? It was lucky that we weren't going to take it with us anyway.. But, there was no getting those markers out.. (And Stickers. And Glitter) hee hee.. it was.. interesting to live with for awhile though anyway! And Yes.. We use a lot of table cloths with our new table!! =)

be cautious with the magic erasers. My neighbors daughter colored on their table and she used one and it took the finish off the table. I love magic erasers for many things too...but also dont use them on big screen tvs! My son colored on the big screen and the magic eraser was the only thing that took it off...but at the same time it dulled the screen.
